This past summer, Cabo Wabo tequila wanted to give consumers a first-hand experience of what it really means to live like a rock star.
Enter the Cabo Wabo Rock ’N Awe Tour, an epic journey that tours three cities in just three days. Eight lucky winners partied it up aboard their own tour bus as they cruised through Los Angeles. A drive through the night took them to Sin City, where they received VIP treatment at some of the hottest nightclubs on the Vegas strip. The final stop: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. A private jet flew them across the border to a beach party at an exclusive resort.
Consumers could enter into this sweeps in two ways: One: a national sweeps via digital push sent consumers to a website to enter. A strategic partnership with MadeMan.com and use of Cabo Wabo’s social media pages encouraged consumers to simply sign up. Two: we activated on-premise sampling through a “What’s Your Rockstar Name?” competition. Sampling teams throughout the country asked consumers to combine their middle name with their school mascot, resulting in their official rockstar name. Bartenders then decided which name was the best, and that person was entered into the sweeps.
Nearly 12,000 people entered, and Cabo Wabo saw both an increase in sales in the on-premise and their fan base on all social media platforms. The partnership with MadeMan.com resulted in over two million impressions.
Most importantly, Cabo Wabo inspired eight brand ambassadors who will now spread their brand love to the hundreds, perhaps thousands of individuals they interact with. They had the time of their lives, and now they know that Cabo Wabo is truly the brand to go to when you want a taste of the rockstar lifestyle.
